A bit about Matt Levy

Matt was born premature at 25 weeks with Cerebral Palsy leaving him legally blind. With support of this family, friends and medical professionals Matt is motivated to achieve anything he sets his mind to. Swimming since the age of 12, and first representing Australia at the age of 13, Matt has achieved some amazing things, including:

Athens Paralympics finalist in five events in 2004

Beijing Paralmypic games winning one gold medal in 2008

World Championships winning four gold and two silver medals in addition to achieving four World Records in 2009

World Championships winning three gold, a silver and a bronze medal in addition to achieving two World Records in 2010

Paralympics London winning one gold, one silver and three bronze medals in 2012

World Championships, two gold, a silver and a bronze in 2013

Awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to swimming (OAM) and USA Para Pan Pacs Swimming winning seven gold medals in 2014

Australian Open winning two gold and two bronze medals in addition to achieving a World Record in 2015

German International achieving a World Record in the 50m Breaststroke in 2015

Selected for the Australian team for the Glasgow World Championships in July 2015

Matt is currently training for the Rio Paralympic Games in Brazil.
