A bit about Brad Scott
Brad Scott is a two time Paralympian and triple Paralympic Games Medalist. He is a middle distance runner with a mild form of cerebral palsy, which was acquired at birth. As a child, all Brad wanted to do was play sport, any sport, with the dream of one day wearing the green and gold. But at the age of 12, Scott’s doctor suggested that his body may not have the ability to handle the demands of sport from the age of 14. This did not deter Brad, as it only motivated him to play more sport, as he was determined not to let his doctor’s words be true.
In September 2008 his dream became a reality; he was given the honour of representing Australia at the Beijing Paralympic Games. Not only did Brad fulfil his goal, he also proudly won a silver medal in the T37 Class 800m. Brad followed his outstanding form by collecting silver in the 800m and bronze medal in the 4x100m at the 2011 IPC World Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand. At the 2012 London Paralympic Games, Brad cemented his position as one of the World’s top Paralympic athletes by winning another two Paralympic medals, silver in the 1500m and a bronze in the 800m. Continuing from the success on the track, Brad medaled once again at his next International Competition, the 2013 IPC World Championships in Lyon, France. Where he secured another silver medal in the 800m. In October 2015, Brad once again stepped onto the medal dais winning his 5th international silver medal at the IPC World Championships which were held in Doha, Qatar.
Now the hunger for gold is even greater. The past achievements and experiences have only fuelled Brad’s passion for competing at the highest level. Completely focused on performing at his third Games, the 2016 Paralympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
